Pixar Minimalist Posters by Wonchan Lee
Melted down to just their iconic features, the Pixar characters are still instantly recognizable in this poster series from Wonchan.

Lovely model making and conceptual work from Kyle Bean. Via our friends at MatDolphin.
This is awesome. Totally nails the message and reinforces the iconic image of the product. Very intelligent, simple advertising. The best kind of advertising.

How Famous Brands Got Their Names and Logos
Source: agda.com.au
Been so long since I updated this site I almost forgot how to do it. Neglect aside and thanks to the wonder of twitter I’ve been compelled to take to my keyboard again with some short sharp comments on Leo Burnett.
The other night I heard for the first time Leo Burnett’s famous ‘When to take my name off the door.’ speech that I think is brilliant. Its been out there since 1967 but has managed to evade me ever since. Now to mark Leo Burnett’s 75th anniversary a chap called Lobo in São Paulo, has created this wonderful retro animation that visualises the speech perfectly. I think its fair to say I’m a believer but I don’t think there’s any possible alternative for anyone working at any level in the advertising or creative industry.
Leo Burnett the ad agency was born in the depths of the depression in Chicago and with one client and eight ‘believers’ Leo Burnett created an icon. Along the way producing campaigns and building brands that remain house hold names ¾ of a century on; The Jolly Green Giant, Morris the Cat, and Charlie Tuna, the Pillsbury doughboy, Tony the Tiger, and the infamous Marlboro Man.
At a time when we are facing probably the most challenging economic climate since the depression it’s an interesting thought.

Scare your mates and children with this awesome flying shark and clown fish set. I’ve been looking for something for ages that I could use to mentally scar my children with at their next birthday party. These are just the thing!
Up there with the crazy mental Phone for you after dark tv ads… Enjoy.

Loved this when I first read the transcript, the death of Steve Jobs makes it all the more poignant. Stay hungry, stay foolish.
I feel a great disturbance in the force.
Phones 4U ad is freaking me out on Channel 4. I won’t be able to sleep tonight now. Very good/freaky.

Oh lookie, 500 people in 100 seconds. Animation within animation. Coolness.
STA Travel TV spot which I like a lot (particularly the hand clap) reminds me a lot of The Man who Walked Across America… Magpie Moment…?
